At this year’s American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, Chyke Doubeni, MD, MPH, the Chief Health Equity Officer at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, co-chaired a panel entitled “Multicancer Early Detection: Is It Ready for Prime Time?” He represented an equity-focused perspective regarding the cons of early adoption, alongside Dr. Robert A. Smith’s epidemiological perspective on the pros of early adoption and Dr. Jamie Renee Brewer’s regulatory perspective on hurdles to overcome. Dr. Doubeni then sat down to further discuss his opinions on the topic, including:

  • Recent clinical trials evaluating multicancer early detection tests
  • What clinicians need to know about multicancer detection and advice for how they should advise their patients
  • Potential negative impacts of multicancer detection testing
  • How clinical trials could evaluate these tests for effectively
  • And more!
