A Letter to Oncology Data Advisor Readers From Thomas Abrams, MD

It's been a busy three months here at Oncology Data Advisor (ODA) since I last banged out an "Editor's Notes." One of the highlights was ODA's presence at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting. Many researchers spoke on camera with us about the work they were presenting at the meeting, and visibility for the website increased tremendously. It was a rousing success.

I remain incredibly proud of all the hard work our staff does every day to bring the cutting edge of clinical oncology to our readership in succinct, digestible bites. For the busy oncology clinician, I can think of no better Internet home base than ODA to stay abreast on all that is happening in our fast-changing field.

As usual, I want to highlight some of the eye-catching interviews, podcasts, and original articles available on our site. The first podcast I'd like to bring to your attention is John Leonard's wonderful Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) Update podcast. A lot has transpired in MCL recently, and John expertly breaks down the data. It's a tour de force. I also want to make sure you don't miss Megan-Claire Chase's podcast which describes her own breast cancer journey and how it led her to become a tireless advocate for those living with the disease.

Finally, I'd like to welcome Dr. Lei Zhao, an esteemed Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), to the ODA Editorial Board. I've known Lei for years. Her work documenting the molecular underpinnings of GI cancers is nothing short of breathtaking. I can't wait for her to bring her unique skill set to ODA.

Cheers,

Tom
