A Letter to Oncology Data Advisor Readers From Thomas Abrams, MD

I am thrilled to announce that I will be staying on as Editor in Chief of Oncology Data Advisor for at least another year. It gives me such great joy to work with such an accomplished group of experts in oncology, as well as with an extremely professional core of editors headed up by Keira Smith. We have grand plans for 2023. In the meantime, please avail yourselves of some of the best commentary in oncology today. I want to especially recommend two of our offerings that have recently hit the website.

In our malignant hematology module, Lyn Brook interviews Dr. John Mascarenhas, a Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, about recent updates in the treatment and understanding of myelofibrosis. It's a short podcast, but one packed with critical information in an easily digestible format. It's terrific.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), we have a podcast in which Keira interviews Lillie Shockney, Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University, and Janie Metsker, Clinical Coordinator at the Koontz Center for Advanced Breast Cancer at St. Luke's Hospital. Both Lillie and Janie started week-long retreats for metastatic breast cancer patients at their respective institutions and speak to Keira about how powerful these can be for both patient and provider. The podcast is chock full of moving stories and reflections and is essential listening for those interested in the humanistic elements of oncology.

Enjoy!

Tom
